Lydia Lunch oral history (book)

Posted in Music News on March 14, 2020

Author Nick Soulsby has compiled a new oral history exploring the career of Lydia Lunch, founder of Teenage Jesus & The Jerks, and longtime music maker and artist.

Titled The War Is Never Over, the book is a companion piece to a new documentary of the same name, directed by Beth B. "An accompaniment to Beth B’s documentary of the same name, this book is the first comprehensive overview of Lunch’s creative campaign of resistance, a celebration of pleasure as the ultimate act of rebellion," a press release states, including memories from collaborators and colleagues such as Thurston Moore, Jim Sclavunos, Kid Congo Powers, Bob Bert, and Richard Kern.

The book publishes on April 30 via Jawbone Press and the film is screening in the USA and Europe now.
