What band did you discover in 2011 (can be a brand new band or an older band) that had an impact on your life? What made them significant?
With all the Descendents show buzz that's been around it really kicked off my crate digging through all of my ALL records. ALL always has been the nerdier (musically) little brother but man every record brings back memories of when the records were new. The shows we did with them back in 1997 made my inner music geek explode and the records still do.
A close second has been getting back in touch with my Ted Leo discography.
How will you remember 2011 (in terms of music)?
The year that nothing broke. So many bands bending genre just for bendings sake. Should a jazz influenced death metal band with drum and bass breakdowns and melodic chorus make me yawn? When it's done by a half dozen bands it does!
What can we look forward to from you in 2012?
More Graphic Novels! Reading is the new listening to music. Haven't you heard.
What records are you looking forward to most in 2012?
The new Slayer, Menzingers, Cheap Girls, and Make Do And Mend.
What did you expect to be huge in 2011 which never made it?
I was expecting the economy to make a comeback but that never happened.
