Vince Conriquez & William Cutts (Low Places)
What are your top five albums that were released in 2011? (in order 1-5)
Vince- Drake "Take Care", Cults "Cults", Royal Headache "Royal Headache", Full of Hell "The Roots of Earth are Consuming my Home", Twin Steps "Serial Parade".
Will - The Men "Leave Home", Hoax "Hoax", Twin Steps "Serial Parade", Royal Headache "Royal Headache", ASAP Rocky "LiveLoveA$AP",
What band did you discover in 2011 (can be a brand new band or an older band) that had an impact on your life? What made them significant?
Will - Merchandise. Feedback, shitty recordings, shitty attitude, reverb, cool art... they're like a punk band without being a punk band. They take risks but they're not even risks, it's just what they want to do.
Vince - Merchandise was my shit up until i heard Royal Headache. That band is fucking perfect.
How will you remember 2011 (in terms of music)?
Vince - Haters, cops, lots of weed. This year has been a bit of a blur. There's a lot I don't remember...
Will - Really sorting some shit out through music. Living at the Mountain Man House and listening to more than just fucking hardcore.
What can we look forward to from you in 2012?
Will - A split with Twin Steps. An LP. A tour. Secret projects. Fires.
Vince - Pure Fucking Armageddon.
What records are you looking forward to most in 2012?
Will - I don't look forward to anything. I kind of just keep an ear to the ground.
Vince - I look forward to the projects my friends are involved in. We are fortunate enough to be surrounded by great bands and great people.
What did you expect to be huge in 2011 which never made it?
Vince - Sound & Fury was kind of a let down. That's a long list. This question is sort of asking us to talk shit. We had a great time hanging out and selling drugs, but the festival didn't feel the same.
Will - Beyond that, it seemed like a lot of bands and people took the safe route this year. At least where we're from. Some of the most intense were the most hated.
