Eric Solomon (O Pioneers!!! / Black Clouds)

What are your top five albums that were released in 2011? (in order 1-5)

Not in a specific order

  • Senders-lucidity/lucidity
  • Static radio nj- we are all beasts
  • Bridge & tunnel-rebuilding year
  • Small brown bike-fell and found
  • Junior battles-idle ages
What band did you discover in 2011 (can be a brand new band or an older band) that had an impact on your life? What made them significant?

This year I feel like I fell in love with Tigersjaw. I really liked their s/t a lot and after playing with them a bunch this year and constantly listening to their records, I really became enamored with them. I really feel like they are an important band, making an awesome impact.

How will you remember 2011 (in terms of music)?

I'll remember 2011 as the year all of my friends constantly decimated the gauntlet that was thrown down. Writing some of the best records of the year and their career and its only gonna get better.

What can we look forward to from you in 2012?

I'm excited to start a new project called Black Clouds. Our first record is a split with Tigersjaw, coming out in 2012 on Run for Cover.

What records are you looking forward to most in 2012?

I'm super excited for the new New Bruises record to finally come out. I'm also really excited for the new Sidekicks record.

What did you expect to be huge in 2011 which never made it?

I didn't really see any flops this year. As I mentioned all of my friends slayed everything in their path. We are all on team awesome.
