Haute Magie honors J. Matias Aaltonen

J. Matias Aaltonen of Bird from the Abyss passed on May 8, 2012 due to an overdose on medication. His label, Haute Magie, has announced a tribute in form of a memorial edition of his self-titled double cassette originally released in 2011. The label is also remastering select tracks for an eventual vinyl release from Aaltonen.

Says the label:

Let us never forget this amazing musical talent and, overall, wonderful friend. He will be sorely missed.

We hope that no matter where he may be, the bird carrying him now is flying far above the abyss.
