Kowloon Walled City

(Ian Miller)

What are your top five albums that were released in 2009? (In order 1-5)

  1. Pissed Jeans - King of Jeans

  2. Raekwon - Only Built for Cuban Links II

  3. Death - For the Whole World to See (RI)

  4. Cave In - Planets of Old

  5. Kasabian - West Ryder Pauper Lunatic Asylum

What band did you discover in 2009 (can be a brand new band or an older band) that had an impact on your life? What made them significant?

Captain Beyond. Their eponymous 1972 is the hard-rock/psych/proto-metal album I've been searching years for.

How will you remember 2009? (In terms of music)

The year Animal Collective unseated Vampire Weekend as most ridiculously over hyped band.

2009 was a huge year for reunions. What reunion excited you the most? What band that has not reunited would you love to see play/record most in 2010?

Can't pick just one: it's a dead heat between Cave In, Rival Schools, Frodus, and Murder City Devils. As for 2010, no idea. How about Void?

What can we look forward to from you in 2010?

A new Snailface album in February, a KWC record later in the year, and some KWC touring to parts unknown and as yet unspecified.

What three records are you looking forward to most in 2010?

  1. New Rival Schools!
  2. Spoon: Transference

  3. E-40: Revenue Retrievin' / New Belle & Sebastian (3.5)
