What band did you discover in 2011 (can be a brand new band or an older band) that had an impact on your life? What made them significant?
I was introduced to a really fantastic new band called Joyce Manor that seriously rips hard! Their self-titled record really struck a chord with me. I seriously heard it at the perfect time, and the lyrics really resonated. Listen to "Constant Headache" to see what I mean. I'm really interested to see where this band will go!
How will you remember 2011 (in terms of music)?
It really was a banner year for the type of music that I listen to! Great records from tons of my favorite bands. This year was very productive for us as well. We made a record that we're really proud of and we got to see all kinds of new places and make new friends on tour.
What can we look forward to from you in 2012?
We'll be doing another record and playing shows all over. Prepare your livers!
What records are you looking forward to most in 2012?
- The Holy Mess
- The Menzingers
- Broadway Calls
- Sour Boy, Bitter Girl
- Red Collar
What did you expect to be huge in 2011 which never made it?
I wouldn't say that they 'never made it', but it surprises me that Restorations isn't one of the biggest bands in the country right now. Everyone should be rocking their self-titled record right now!
