What band did you discover in 2011 (can be a brand new band or an older band) that had an impact on your life? What made them significant?
I was given the DOCTORSHOPPER tape by a my good friend Bryan Huber and was instantly blown away by what I heard. It's a perfect blend of G.I.S.M. styled noise/hardcore mixed with primitive black metal similar to early DODHEIMSGARD. The music is blown out and distorted beyond recognition and the vocals are barbaric yells drenched in echo effects that make the singer sound like the barking of a pack of rabid wolves. I have a feeling this band will continue to make really intense fucked up music.
How will you remember 2011 (in terms of music)?
Mostly I'll remember it as the year my computer got stolen and I lost 2 albums worth of both written and recorded material forever. After that I got my medicinal marijuana prescription to help prevent me from flipping my wig and killing a motherfucker.
What can we look forward to from you in 2012?
A new GEHENNA album. the GEHENNA / INTEGRITY split 7", the "Cult OF The 7 Crowns" mixtape series finally getting off the ground. The LESSER KEY Cassette. And much much more.
What records are you looking forward to most in 2012?
PENETRATION PANTHERS album. End of story. The PENETRATION PANTHERS are the best band playing music right now hands down.
What did you expect to be huge in 2011 which never made it?
BISHOP LAMONT. I hope 2012 is his year cause the dude deserves it!
