Atlanta, Georgia three piece horrorbilly rocksters The Tomb Tones released their debut album "Pumpkin Guts" in 2020 and are now following up with this brand new spooky foodie fable Ghost of Toast! This album tells the gruesome tale of Bill Higgins, a mill worker for the Miracle Bread Company back in the 60s. It was reported that Bill fell into the wheat grinder one night and now little bits of him still exist within the bread mix today, "maybe a little bit of Bill will be in your next sandwich."!!!

The Tomb Tones blend quirky novelty rock with influences ranging from The Cramps and Ramones with a rockin' B-52s style vibe that works so very well. Their style is professional yet silly and as spooky as it is campy not to mention infectiously catchy. As stated in their press release " Ghost of Toast sees the band coming into their own sound with a more experimental style while tapping deeper into their rock and roll roots and signature comedic horror story wordplay, while paying homage to late-nite horror specials such as Elviras Movie Macabre and Tales from the Crypt."

Ghost of Toast is 11 tracks comprising of 8 full length tracks with a wraparound intro, epilogue and midway matinee containing a selection of spooktacularly ghoulish fun times. From the immensely catchy "Wormhole" which was released earlier this May, all songs have a quirky rockabilly vibe to them, however from the punky first few tracks it does seem to get progressively more 50/60s swing/rockabilly as the album goes on. Stand out tracks for me apart from the awesome "Wormhole" is the brilliant "Dead Meat" about a murderous other half and my all time favourite "Googly Eyes" which is self explanatory... sort of. I love the wraparound story and would really like to hear an extended spoken word fullblown audio horrorstory adaptation of the whole thing please!!! "Mr. Babadookie" reminds me of something that The Cherry Poppin' Daddies might come up with if they stayed up all night watching monster movies,it is soooo much fun!! They top the album off with a cover of Ritchie Valens "Come On Lets Go' from 1958 which has the same 50s cool as his version but is punked up and played at twice the original speed.

The Tomb Tones are a breath of fresh air in this time of saturation, these guys bring a little something different, not wholly original granted but certainly one of the most entertaining horrorpunk combos to come about in recent times. Ghost of Toast has been on permanent playback since I got my claws on it and I don't plan on changing it anytime soon!

Please check out The Tomb Tones previous releases via their bandcamp page and prepare yourselves for the "Ghost of Toast" released on June 23rd. https://tombtones.bandcamp.com/track/wormhole-single

Errth
Uncle Style Records (2025)

What makes a gruff vocal melodic punk band stand out? That's the question I'm asking myself as I listen to Errth's debut on repeat. I've been playing this record for probably a month straight and I dig it. It checks the heart-on-sleeve style I enjoy but I'm struggling to figure out why, exactly. I think on this, it's the tones … Read more

Histeria
Drunken Sailor (2025)

If you read enough press releases, you start questioning if you even know what genre names mean. Post-punk has been one of the most abused terms of the past 2-3 years and it seems to mean wildly different things to different people. To me, it’s always meant an ear for angular guitars and noise atop more traditional song concepts. 1186 … Read more

Shuttle Raven of the Dream
Utech (2025)

Li Jianhong's philosophy surpasses the direct relationship of a musician with their instrument of choice. Instead, Li has advocated for Environment Improvisation, where the urge to create and improvise is established by the artist's surroundings. Looking at Li's website you can find numerous instances that inspired him to settle down and start improvising, drawing energy from the surroundings. The music … Read more
