Scream and Light Up the Sky has been a long long time coming. Three years have gone by since their last release. This album also has been in my hands for several months (I think I was mailed a copy like six months prior to its actual release). I liked it but let it slide to the wayside as I didn't think reviewing an album six months prior to its release made much sense. So how does it sound?
Well, to be honest, I never listened to their first record. But, based on my listenings to Scream and Light Up the Sky, the album really catches your attention on first listen. The Honorary Title mixes new wave, indie, and pop music into a nice, neat little package. It's like candy though, it's good in moderation, but if you eat an entire pillowcase full, you end up with a stomachache.
All in all, Scream and Light Up the Sky is what the second album from The Killers should have sounded like. This blows that record out of the water, but it definitely suffers from a lack of replay value.
