If you think this band has something to do with Sun-0)))))))))))))))))))) or Deafheaven (even after looking at the artwork), please look on! You will not find anything of your liking here. And I'm grateful for that! Seven tracks (five if you don't count the intro and outro) would have felt like an eternity to me if I had to sit through that. Instead, this sunny EP is over before you know it! Of course, time flies when you're having fun. So that helps, but also, this is a really short and sweet EP.
Sun-0-Bathers deliver summer early this year. The five actual songs on Local Warming are bound to bring you back to the nineties. That time when Epitaph ruled the scene and that west coast punk sound was everything you needed for a good time. Do I really need to drop some names here? I mean, Sun-0-Bathers even named one song: "Scott Radinsky".
The big question is: is it any good? The answer to that depends a bit on your mindset (and perhaps if you grew up listening to all those west coast punk bands?). If you are looking for something new and original, this is not where you are going to find it. If you want some new music in a style so familiar you'll find yourself trying to sing along to these tunes from the first time you hear it, this is the shit! It's a trip down memory lane, but very well executed!
