On to the next single. Again we start with it's title track, of course: "Soft Flesh." This is the song that lured me into reviewing these singles. On "Soft Flesh" (the song) Pilkington uses a casiotone and they use it well. From the first second I was hooked. To finish the song of the guitar work here is very surfy and thereby right in my alley. On this single again the band has one song sung by Edward and one by Becca. Soft Flesh is Edwards moment to shine. And although I’m still not a big fan of his voice it works way better on this song. Final song, the B-side, "Elixir" is Becca’s turn again. On this song the band employs synths for some nice details. It’s a nice song, but nothing special. It doesn’t have anything to make it really stand out.
Two singles, four songs, two singers, one band… I’d say this band could become intersting. I hope the casiotone will return on work to come. And to opt for one singer and you can guess who I’d prefer to sing. Now go check Soft Flesh, what are you waiting for?
