Selfist, a hardcore band out of Vancouver, has just released a new video for the song “Immensity Condensed,” filmed on a skate ramp as the band plays amid the action.
The song is on the band’s latest album, A Better World Rejected, released in July.
We asked the band to share what the song and video is all about:
Although Selfist's lyrical themes are generally pessimistic, music has always been a therapeutic exercise for us. Playing in the band allows us to channel all of the negative feelings we carry with us into something positive. We feel that most people who participate in the punk rock subculture can relate to this, and this video is a celebration of music bringing people together and creating a beacon of light in a dark, hopeless world.
Well said.
Selfist will play at Red Gate Arts Society on March 23 in Vancouver, joined by Blacked Out, Zero Index, and Johnny Nocash.
