YouTuber Mikey and His Uke, aka Mikey Hawdon of Fairmounts, is getting attention this week for compiling artists from NOFX, The Interrupters, Rancid, Bouncing Souls, Bad Cop / Bad Cop, skateboarder Tony Hawk, and more, to cover two Operation Ivy songs (below), including a seal of approval from Tim Armstrong, currently of Rancid and also known as Lint of Op Ivy.
The artists play along and join in group chorsues on “Jaded” and “The Crowd,” with a lot of moving phone camerawork.
“Tony filmed his footage in Tim Armstrong’s studio. It was amazing having Tim do a little cameo in this, and we of course wanted to make sure we had the stamp of approval from him on it. We’re very happy we got the thumbs-up from him," Hawdon says.
