2021 has been a weird year. I’ve made life changes on a scale that most people couldn’t even envision let alone grasp, and the whole dealing with family members who believe in conspiracy theories thing has made even those basic ties difficult to handle.  Just before everyone settles in for Christmas, we’ve got a premiere here from Catcher, a Brooklyn-based post-punk group who have got their debut record lined up for a release in early 2022. The video for “Comparing Saviors and Friends” actually kind of sums up a lot of what comes to mind when I think about the current U.S., including the whole notion of people believing in false saviors.

Functioning pretty much exactly as I would hope that it would, it’s loud, noisy, and kind of warped. Mind the flashing images warning. Here’s what Catcher’s drummer Wilson Chestney has to say about it: "I think it's safe to say it’s a single off our LP we’ve recorded that we feel captures our live energy and stands out as one of our more straightforward tracks. When Austin and I originally wrote and demo’d it out, we felt it was probably a little too poppy, but once we had the whole band play it their way for a proper recording, it ended up becoming one of our favorites."

Dig in below, and watch for the full length once the calendar changes.
