Following up 2017’s well-received Heddison EP, Manchester-based songwriter Jack Conman is getting set for the release of his debut full-length, Seventh Sense Libido, which is due early next year on JonBoy Records.
Premiering here, we’ve got the warm and intimate video for album track “Before You Love Me.” Though relatively simple, I think the piece nicely conveys the idea of traveling through nostalgic thoughts in the mind.
Conman describes it thusly:
“The main theme of the video is a comparison of how childhood events can affect future relationships. Each person in the bed represents a different event.
The home video clips are memories that seem to be idealistic and innocent which I wanted to contrast with the sleazy undertones of sharing a bed with multiple people. Its basically to show that being loved and accepted by one person would feel better than being validated by a few. I feel like using sexual imagery is the most accessible way to explain the meaning, but the main message of the song doesn't have anything to do with sexuality, the meaning leans more towards the cliche of craving acceptance.”
Check out the video below and keep an eye out for the new record in early 2021.
