SPB Exclusive: Nick Millevoi "Just For A Moment, I Stood There In Silence"
Desertion

Scene Point Blank is excited to premiere the video from math-rock guitarist Nick Millevoi's new album, Desertion. The amazing “Just For A Moment, I Stood There In Silence” directed by Dylan Pecora, features a string arrangement by Dan Blacksberg and is mixed by Colin Marston. The track introduces perfectly the blues/jazz hybrid style and vibe of Desertion, but be aware that there is still a lot to explore in this album.

Nick Millevoi is probably best known for his work in the insane experimental math rock band, Many Arms, whose latest collaboration with Toshimaru Nakamura was simply brilliant. His personal project however takes on a different route. With his solo album, Desertion, which came out May 20th, Millevoi bridges the gap between the works of Neil Young with Crazy Horse, and the late '60s New York free-jazz scene. That does not mean that Millevoi leaves behind his technical and experimental self, and with a line-up that includes fellow Many Arms member Johnny DeBlase, John Zorn collaborator Jamie Saft and Secret Chiefs 3 member Ches Smith, this aspect is highlighted through the record.
