The Dillinger Escape Plan are calling it quits after 20 years of mayhem, metal and mathcore.

The upside is that Australia is getting a chance to bid farewell to the experimental compositions and genre-bending approach to heavy music that DEP stands for.

Almost exactly one year on from releasing their sixth and final album Dissociation, the ferocious five-piece will head Down Under as part of their final touring cycle behind the record.

Update: A second Melbourne show has been added.

August 27 Newsflash: After selling out the first Sydney date, a second and definitely final show has been announced at Sydney’s Bald Faced Stag Hotel on Wednesday, 18 October.

DEP will serenade us with their swansong in capital cities across Australia:

Sunday 15 October - Capitol, Perth (18+)

Tuesday 17 October - Fowlers Live, Adelaide (18+)

Thursday 19 October - Corner Hotel

Friday 20 October - Corner Hotel, Melbourne (18+)

Saturday 21 October - Metro Theatre, Sydney (18+)

Sunday 22 October - Max Watts, Brisbane (18+)

Tickets are on sale Friday 21 April (9am AEST) and for more details you should head to the fine people of Destroy All Lines.
