Levitation, the new incarnation of Austin Psych Fest at Carson Creek Ranch, has been cancelled due to severe weather predicted in the already weather-weary state of Texas. The festival organizers are actively trying to organize alternative venues for the major players, but the festival grounds were considered too sketchy for the event to continue.
As someone who has gone to Levitation at Carson Creek Ranch, I can understand their decision. That being said, this is most unfortunate, because the lineup this year at Levitation was ridiculous. I really feel for the people that travelled to Austin only for the event to be cancelled at the last minute. Hopefully, many of the bands will be able to find alternate venues to play at.
That is all, hopefully Austin Psych Fest continues. Cancelling any festival is a major financial hardship, and it certainly is a hardship for the folks running this festival. I consider Levitation to be one of the best events in Austin, and I hope that it will continue going forward.
