Peter Hook Takes Joy Division's Unknown Pleasures on the Road

Posted by Jon E. on April 10, 2010

NME reports that former Joy Division and New Order bassist Peter Hook is taking Unknown Pleasures, Joy Division's classic debut album, on tour. Hook will commemorate the 30th anniversary of Joy Division frontman Ian Curtis' death by playing the album, in its entirety, on May 18 at Manchester's FAC251 club, the refurbished site of the original Factory Records. There will be guests.

In the weeks before that show, he'll tour the UK on a show billed as "An Evening of Unknown Pleasures". At each one of these shows, Hook will show previously unseen footage of both Joy Division and New Order. Hook will also talk about his previous bands and take questions from the audience.

Hook's current project, Freebass, featuring the Smiths' Andy Rourke and Mani from the Stone Roses and Primal Scream, just released their debut EP and have scheduled their debut shows, taking place this June.
