Philadelphia's Fight Amp have announced a final tour and break-up, playing a few shows in early November before their final Nov. 12 show in Brooklyn.
The band, founded in 2004, issued a statement included after the jump.
Well, here it is. As of today we're officially announcing that our November shows will be our last. Fight Amp is going on indefinite hiatus.
It's been a long strange, wild, educational, fun and sometimes painful journey, and this is not a decision we made lightly or quickly. It may come as a surprise to a lot of you, but the three of us have been chewing on this for a while. The timing just seems right at this point. We're leaving on a high note with the release of our favorite Fight Amp record to date, Constantly Off, as our farewell album.
We can't thank you all enough for riding this thing through with us. There's enough stories, gratitude, lessons and history embedded in this band at this point that we could write a book on the topic. Instead of a long-winded statement here we'll let those things come out as time passes. Without going into too much further detail, we're making this move to focus on other musical projects. We're lifers in this thing and we're not going anywhere as musicians, so stay tuned for what's to come. As far as the new material we had written and started to demo, we'll let that sleep for now.
It's been real, people. Thank you all so much for the continued support and we hope to see you in November to see Fight Amp one last time.
One fuckin' love,
Mike, Jon, Dan
