Connecticut hardcore outfit Ambitions have decided to call it quits. The band, who last released Stranger via Bridge Nine Records, will play two final shows before hanging it up. The band issued the following statement:
With members living in 3 states and various other demands of life, it’s been harder and harder to devote the time to this band that we feel it deserves. Between one of the members preparing for a reality show and another supporting the campaign trail for Barack Obama, things have been extremely busy outside of the band. Rather than become less and less active, we've decided to put a proper end to something that has meant a lot to us. This band has been a big part of our lives for the past 3 years, and we can't begin to thank everyone for their support and friendship. Since our beginning in 2005, we've had the opportunity to tour with our favorite bands, play some incredible shows, as well as work with three of the best labels in hardcore. We also managed to release an EP, a full-length, and lots and lots of vinyl! Thanks to all the members who have filled in as part of this project: Matts Fox and Fletcher, Brian "Handle", Mark Choiniere, Adam Opot, and Sean Martin. Also we'd like to give special thanks to Greg Thomas at Silver Bullet Studios for his endless patience in recording every piece of music we released. Unfortunately, due to financial difficulties, we won't be able to make our long overdue trip out west to play Sound & Fury. However, we will be playing two final shows in CT, and we hope to see everyone there. This has been a great journey, and one we will never forget.
