Scene Point Blank relaunches: new design and features

Posted by Matt on January 27, 2013

Welcome to the new-look Scene Point Blank! You're seeing what's amounted to almost a year of planning, designing, re-coding and rethinking. We hope you like it - we're really pleased with it.

You'll see more as the weeks go on of the new features and parts of the site, but to give a quick summary, here are the major new things:

  • The site is now using a technique called "responsive design", meaning that it should resize appropriately to match whatever device you're viewing it on -- give it a try on your smartphone or even a tablet.

  • We've got an embedded Spotify player underneath album reviews so you can listen as you read. We've integrated the popular Disqus commenting system. Serendipity is back! You can use the Randomizer below to grab three random bits of our content, and dotted around the site are "from the archive" items from years past.

  • Search is better and more useful, and we'll soon be posting new album streams in the player you see to the right on the homepage. Competitions are even easier to enter and our blogposts now appear on the homepage.

There's more to come and things we haven't mentioned here, but explore - check it out and let us know what you think!
