After nearly twenty years, the tour de force in terms of creating a veritable platform for the presentation of boundary pushing ideas within the realm of design and beyond, i.e. Semi Permanent ( www.semipermanent.com ) is gearing up for its upcoming incarnation and arts precinct Carriageworks as part of Vivid Sydney 2022.
After being stifled by the implications of the pandemic and having had to partly retreat to the digital space, word around the campfire has that Semi Permanent 2022 is set to become the festival’s most ambitious endeavour, with its focus firmly set on the provision of enhanced visitor experiences, workshops, panel discussions, performances and installations.
With a diverse and eclectic pool of trailblazing thought leaders locked in to present at 20th anniversary of Semi Permanent, paired with the return of the wonderfully executed Semi Permanent Hotel takeover of Sydney’s Paramount House Hotel, the collaboration of which with High Snobiety we covered last year, and the launch of PERMANENT Art & Design Book Fair, comprising over 30 of the region’s leading publishers, artists and designers showcasing hundreds of new and previously unseen books, magazines, zines, posters, digital editions and more, we cannot wait to cover what is bound to elevate the biggest and longest-running creativity and design festival in the Southern hemisphere to new heights from 25th-27th May 2022.
