The Fest 19 updates

The Fest 19, pushed back from 2020 to 2021 for reasons we're all familiar with by now, has announced several lineup additions for the 3-day festival in Gainesville, FL.

The Fest is an annual Scene Point Blank event and, for many, nears the status of a pilgrimmage at this point. Anyway, the newly announced bands are all pretty exciting, including Brendan Kelly, Pears, The Casket Lottery, Direct Hit, Nato Coles and the Blue Diamond Band, Superbloom, and more.

Here is the full "new update:"

PEARS, The Casket Lottery, Direct Hit, Ratboys, Be Well, Brendan Kelly, Sundowner, Ray Rocket, Elway, Militarie Gun, Ceschi, Pass Away, Heart & Lung, NØ MAN, Camp Trash, Antagonizers ATL, Joystick, Bottom Bracket, Bandaid Brigade, Pseudo, Racones, Totally Slow, Minimum Rage, SACK, Superbloom, Nato Coles and the Blue Diamond Band, Bricheros, Better Now, Big Loser, Fortitude, Teresa Rose, Thunderclap, Wired Up, Telepathic Lines, Johnathan Coody, Secret World, and Jen Pop.

Tickets for The Fest 19 have already sold out -- in part due to transferred sales from 2020's postponement and additionally due to fewer tickets being sold in the current pandemic-effected environment. More tickets may become available due to refunds, same-day sales, etc.

Previously announced performers include:

Hot Water Music (TWO NIGHTS), Gorilla Biscuits, Frank Turner, The Wonder Years, The Lawrence Arms, Murder By Death, Good Riddance, Planes Mistaken For Stars, Torche, Teenage Bottlerocket, Strike Anywhere, Modern Life is War, Comeback Kid, A Wilhelm Scream, Tim Barry, The Appleseed Cast, Mustard Plug, I Am The Avalanche, Chris Gethard, Cobra Skulls, Spanish Love Songs, Red City Radio, No Trigger, Broadway Calls, Sheer Mag, Skatune Network, We Are The Union, Into It. Keep Walkin’ Pal
Red Scare Industries (2018)

Does the world really need a ska-tinged surf song about waterboarding? How you answer that question will probably answer how you feel about this record as a whole. Not that such a concept is really a surprise for those who have followed Brendan Kelly’s musical output and sense of humor over the years. While I personally think “Boardin’ USA” feels … Read more

Green Star
Fat Wreck Chords (2016)

It’s been a while since I thought about the Fat Wreck effect, where a band signs to the San Francisco label and then releases a notably “Fat styled” album. Propagandhi’s How to Clean Everything is the biggest example to come to mind, but it was a thing people talked about in the ‘90s. You know, besides talking about baggy pants, … Read more

Go To Prison
Gunner Records (2014)

Naming an album is something of a branding concept. Yes, it’s also artistic, but occasionally those two worlds collide, even if we don’t want to admit it.Go To Prison is fitting for Pears debut. It’s angry and often reflects the tone of a loner lashing (slashing?) out at the system. Then the group choruses come, bringing solidarity to the forefront … Read more

While I want to say that Scene Point Blank went big this year with so many interviews in this feature, the truth is that it's barely a fraction of the bands that play at FEST 22, taking place in Gainesville, FL from Oct. 25-27. The artists featured are just a … Read more
