Legendary Leeds, UK-based venue the Brudenell Social Club (host to both local acts and international underground heroes) will be hosting a night dedicated to Michael Azzerad's seminal history of the 80s indie/punk underground, Our Band Could Be Your Life. The show features 13 local bands covering each of the acts included in Azzerad's book, and include cover sets of artists like Fugazi, Sonic Youth, Minutemen, Mission of Burma, Black Flag and more.
Each set will be 3/4 covers and one original song by the local act, and the fundraiser show's profits will raise money for Label Love, an organisation set up to help labels affected by the recent London riots, which saw a warehouse burn down which contained thousands of records.
There'll also be a craft fair, with zines, records and snacks for sale. If you're a local, head down to the Brudenell Social Club on Saturday 19th November from 4:30pm onwards (or 12:30pm for the craft fair). It's £3 in advance or £5 on the door. If you're not lucky enough to live locally, you can donate towards the cause at the LabelLove site here.
