Screeching Weasel working on new album

Posted in Records on September 7, 2010

Screeching Weasel recently wrapped up work on demos of material for their next album. The band is recording with All American Rejects guitarist Mike Kennerty. Drummer Adam Cargin posted this on his twitter:

Had a great time working with [Mike Kennerty] on the Weasel demos. He is a total pro+one of the nicest guys I've worked with. Can't wait for round 2.

Frontman Ben Weasel also added:

[Mike] is a terrific producer. He makes the songs better without fucking them up. He makes me feel safe. And special. And loved.

Weasel previously collaborated with Kennerty on his solo album 2007's These Ones Are Bitter. This new album will be the first from the band since 2000s Teen Punks in Heat. It will also mark the band's first album without founding guitarist John Jughead who went through a "not an amicable split" with the band last year.
