Next year's Story of the Year

Long-running Story of the year announced a new album out in 2026 -- sharing the new single "Gasoline (All Rage Still Only Numb) this week to tide over fans and to capture the stream-o-sphere. 

The new record, A.R.S.O.N., comes out on Feb. 13 through Sharptone Records.

The new single/title track "is a song about hitting your breaking point and saying fuck everything,” guitarist Ryan Phillips says in a statement. “It’s about being wild and reckless, and giving into the impulse to burn it all down and start anew.”

As for the record, the band states:

In a lot of ways, A.R.S.O.N. picks up where Tear me to Pieces left off...We used the same team - Colin Brittain producing again, with the main objective of simply writing great songs. Nothing was forced, no trends were chased, it was simply about getting to the essence of what makes SOTY sound like SOTY: Big guitars, snappy drums, and Dan’s ability to seamlessly oscillate between screaming & singing songs about desperation, loss, and the complexity of relationships.

After a US tour, the band joins the traveling Park Waves Festival in Australia.
