Originally released in 2010 to a rave 8.5/10 review by SPB, Locian's The Crystal World will get a 15-year anniversary reissue courtesy of Utech Records -- which also released the original back in the day. Preorders are open now for the June 12 release.

The first album with drummer Steven Hess, who recalls, "I remember really focusing on how I would approach the drum parts for these songs and the entire record. Minimal, slightly off-kilter, and I wanted them to loosely hold the beat but to also blend in and be more textural, like another layer folded into the overall sound but occasionally piercing through like a shard of glass.”

Tracklist:

  1. Triumph Of Elimination
  2. At Night's End
  3. The Crystal World (Instrumental)
  4. Pathogens (Instrumental)
  5. Obsidian Facades
  6. Elevations And Depths
  7. Extinction

Return To Annihilation
Relapse (2013)

Holy mother of god I was clearly not ready for Return To Annihilation from Locrian, and I guarantee that “Eternal Return” will do the same to you; now, my reaction has more to do with the shockingly uplifting sound and mood that the song seems destined to pop on people as they press play for the first time than the … Read more
