Tampa, FL band Big Sad has announced their debut LP, Black Umbrellas, their second release overall. The band features members and former members of Clairmel, The Tim Version, Madison Bloodbath, and more, and released Send Help in 2020.

Unlike the aforementioned bands, Big Sad embraces an indie rock approach, on display in the new single "Tragedy at Sea," whose video was directed and edited by member Mario Framingheddu. “The lyrics are from a poem that my friend Anna wrote. To me, it’s about leaving the nest. Some parents push and encourage and some can’t cut the cord,” says Vocalist/guitarist Richie Lawler of the song.

Dave Decker and Shawn Watkins round out the lineup.

Black Umbrellas will release on Sept. 20 via New Granada Records.

Live dates:

SAT. 09/21 – Tampa, FL @ Microgroove
FRi. 10/26 – Gainesville, FL @ The Fest
