Verböten, a punk band formed in Evanston, IL in 1982, will soon release their first ever album, a self-titled record out Oct. 4.
The band reformed and is scheduled for their first live show since 1983 next week at Riot Fest in Chicago on Sept. 21.
"I wrote ‘No More Indecision’ on January 1st of this year,” guitarist/vocalist Jason Narducy says of the band's new single (below). “The music sounded defiant and, because it was the first day of the year, I was thinking about what’s ahead. The lyrics came quickly when I thought about the total denial of climate change by conservatives and the infuriatingly slow pace of meaningful legislation by democrats. The song is us screaming for real change.”
The new record from the short-lived band has 12 songs in total. Original members were
Tracey Bradford, Narducy, Chris Kean, and Zack Kantor. When Kean pitched a reunion, the band decided to write new material instead of living in the past. Narducy also plays with Split Single, is a touring bassist with the Bob Mould Band and Superchunk, and a touring guitarist with Sunny Day Real Estate.
