Alkaline Trio is prepping for a tour with Dropkick Murphys in Australia, and the long-running punk band also released Blood, Hair, and Eyeballs earlier this year. Now the band is back, sharing two previously unreleased songs as a double a-side digital single: "The Sacrifice" a/w "At Sickness". It will also be sold as a limited 7" via alkalinetrio.com and RiseRecords.com, beginning Oct. 18.

Matt Skiba says:

We are very excited to be releasing these two songs as a seven inch. Putting out an EP on 7” vinyl is something we haven’t had the opportunity to do for a long time, so having two new songs to offer up on such a classic format is fun for us as vinyl enthusiasts. Both 'At Sickness' and 'The Sacrifice' were initially written and recorded for our Blood, Hair, and Eyeballs album and leaving them off the record wasn’t an easy decision. It was done merely in the interest of the full-length’s running time, which we wanted to keep under 40 minutes. We’re psyched that these two numbers are being released and will be available on their own special format, no less.

Heart & Skull (2010)

So. The big question. A return to form? Quick answer yes. Less quick answer yes, but. A lot has been touted about the latest album from Skiba, Andriano, and Grant and some of it is even true. It's a definite move away from the ill-advised adult rock of 2008's Agony & Irony, but it falls far from being a primal … Read more

Epic (2008)

Dear Matt Skiba, I recently picked up your band's latest release in the cut out bin at my favorite used CD store. After your last official long player, Crimson, which by the way sucked, I have given up all hope that your Alkaline Trio would ever release anything worth my time. Now here we are, Matt, with your first major … Read more

I haven't met anyone in my life that is affiliated with hardcore or punk that doesn't like at least a handful of Alkaline Trio songs. The Bouncing Souls have been a band now for longer than I've been alive, and let's just say I'm not a teenager anymore. The incredible thing about these Jersey punks is that they've managed to remain on my record player long after my teenage years—which, let's face it, most of … Read more

The bus I'm on smells terrible: a mixture of body odour, cheap beer, and anticipation. It's filled to the brim with concert goers, mostly teenagers, but also a handful of adults who are dressed like teenagers. We're on our way to the Toronto leg of Riot Fest. This is the … Read more
