The new John Davis album, JINX, began life as a Superdrag album, before the group shifted direction and ceased work. Davis took the existing foundation and built on it, working with father-son musicians John Stewart (Pegclimber/Epic Ditch) and Henry Stewart, who also produced the album.
The lead single is "The Future," which Davis says:
I guess it sounds extremely pessimistic to say, “I don't wanna know about the future,” but that's just where I was at the time. Sometimes the “now” is crushing your soul to the point where you can't really look ahead. I love this track, love what Stewart & Henry brought to it. Seemed like the perfect opener and the perfect introduction to the LP.
It's a tone setter for the upcoming album, out Sept. 27 via Lost in Ohio record label.
