Seized Up, a hardcore band out of Santa Cruz, CA, has shared a new single to announce their second album. The single, "Hanging in the Balance," comes off Modify the Sacred, which will release on August 9 via Pirates Press Records. The album was written as vocalist Clifford Dinsmore battled cancer, leading to many dark lyrical themes. “In the time period I was fighting cancer, I was shacked up, feeling like a prisoner in my own house. Living in a semi-purgatory state, it felt like I was looking at the world from an outside view," he says.

The band, which released Brace Yourself in 2020, features members and former members of BL’AST!, Good Riddance, The Distillers, and Fast Asleep.

The band hits the road in Europe as the album comes out.
