Active in the early 2010s, Chicago, IL based Coffin Pricks has just released an album today, Semi-Perfect Crimes, plotted for roughly a decade and now released by Council Records.
The band featured by Ryan Weinstein (Cavity, Red Eyed Legends),Chris Thomson (Circus Lupus, Monorchid, Skull Control, Red Eyed Legends), Jeff Rice (Ottawa, Calvary, Daylight Robbery), and Chay Lawrence (Bob Tilton, Tribute), releasing a single in 2012 and recording several songs that never made it to a proper release.
"I would occasionally pester Jeff about the fate of the remaining tracks, yet they seemed destined to linger in obscurity," Council Records' Matthias Weeks explains. "I began this quest with a renewed vigor in mid-2022 and it wasn't too long before Ryan was in the studio with his friend Graeme Gibson remixing the band's entire studio output."
The recordings were finally remastered and, to complete an LP, a live recording from Saki Records was remastered and added.
Weinstein still plays today, under the singular Coffin Prick, recently releasing Laughing. Rice currently drums with Consensus Madness.
