Welcome to Scene Point Blank’s featured stream of the month: Anything’s Impossible by Loud Sleepers, a Pacific Northwest-rooted band playing DIY melodic punk with deeper sonic layers. It’s earnest and emotional, with heavy rhythms to amplify the complex themes at play: part cathartic, part introspection.
At the intersection of alt-rock and rough-around-the-edges pop-punk, the band describes their singalong sophomore record as, “an exploration of post-adolescent disquiet.” Loud Sleepers recorded the record themselves at Let It Snow Recordings (in their garage), then added drum tracks recorded in an allegedly haunted church building.
The band, comprised of Blake West (drums), Chris Elizaga (bass/vocals), Steven Smith (vocals/guitar), and Tyler Gibson (guitar), previously released Who Are You Now? in 2019 (Bomb Pop Records).
