Comprised of bassist Mike Watt and singer/composer Patra Haden, Pelicanman has shared news of Planet Chernobyl, a 15-part opera that releases on June 15 via Org Music on vinyl, cd, and digitally.
Poet Charles Plymell contributes words, inspired by Svetlana Alexievich’s Voices of Chernobyl: The Oral History of a Nuclear Disaster .
Watt has also played on three previous operas: Contemplating the Engine Room (1997), The Secondman’s Middle Stand (2004) and Hyphenated-man (2011).
