With a lineup of Dave Smalley (Dag Nasty, All, Down By Law, DYS), Garrett Rothman (Junction), Jim Bedorf, Tom McGrath (Very Americans), and Tony Bavaria (The Commercials, Very Americans), there's a lot of experience a very familiar voice at the forefront when you hear Don't Sleep. But the band isn't tied to their other projects, and soon they will release See Change, a 9-song sophomore album releasing on June 2 on End Hit Records.
The band shares "Promises Made" now, with Smalley explaining: "This is a song about hardcore and growing up in this music, one that is much more than just notes -- hardcore means taking care of each other, and trying to make things better, one day at a time, against all odds, starting with ourselves."
"The video for “Promise Made” depicts a day in the life of a fictional young band called Fear of Failure getting ready to play a big show in their hometown," he explains, shown below. The fictional band includes Evan McGrath and Theo Rothman, both children of band members, plus Izzy Howard, whose father Josh Howard plays in The Virus.
Don't sleep formed in 2017, releasing Turn the Tide in 2020.
