The Black Halos are back, and Scene Point Blank is excited to host a full stream of their brand new full-length, How the Darkness Doubled.

The band originally formed in 1994, releasing records on Die Young Stay Pretty, Sub Pop, and Century Media before the group dissolved. While they played prominently in Seattle in the post-grunge era, the band was something of a response to that scene, playing protopunk and glam-inspired snotty punk rock with a matching live show.

Rising back into action today, the lineup features original members Billy Hopeless, Rich Jones (Michael Monroe/Ginger Wildheart/AMEN), and Jay Millette, plus new members John Kerns (The Age of Electric) and Danni Action ACIIDZ) on a 12-song “back to basics” album.

“Reuniting with Billy and Jay for this new album brought my focus back to writing with a mindset that was pure, uncompromising Halos -- as far as I'm concerned we've really achieved it,” Jones says of the new effort. “Having our friends John and Danni on board makes this feel like the strongest lineup that we've ever had and you can really hear it on this record. Additionally, Billy and I had always planned to call the third album ‘How The Darkness Doubled.’ So it seemed natural to use that title now, 20 years later, for what I consider to be a spiritual follow-up to The Violent Years.”

The record released on Nov. 25 and can be purchased here and streamed via our home page for the rest of the month.
