Translation Loss Records has announced the upcoming release of When The World Dies, the debut full-length from sludge/doom band Come to Grief. The record is a 7-song collection from the New England four-piece, and the lead single, "Life's Curse" features vocals form Jacob Bannon (Converge).
While When The World Dies may be the band's first full-length, Come to Grief formed eight years ago and has released multiple EPs leading up to the long-player.
Guitar/vocalist Terry Savastano shares how Bannon got involved in the process:
Having Jacob sing vocals was a really big deal. I'm super grateful for it. We go back a long way, actually. He, myself, (Chuck-drums) and some of the Converge guys come from the same area north of Boston called the Merrimack Valley. He had my first band's (Afterbirth) demo very early on - we're talking 1988! We were recording with Kurt Ballou so I thought it would be awesome and kinda appropriate if he could contribute vocals. He's such an emotional singer I thought it would go perfect with Jonathan's (Herbert) roar, and I was right! "Life's Curse" is a pretty emotional song already; he just added a whole lot more.
The new album releases on Mat 20 on LP, cd, and digital platforms.
