Underoath - Voyeurist

Underoath has set a release date of Jan. 14 for their seventh studio album and full-length, Voyeurist, coming courtesy of Fearless Records.

The band recently shared a single, "Pneumonia," which is in part about the passing of guitarist Tim McTague's father.

He elaborates, via press release:

We started writing the song, randomly, on the anniversary of my dad’s death, and to release it exactly a year from that day is wild. I was in a funk and wanted to make something sad but felt drained. The song ended up becoming an audible journey of death and is called "Pneumonia" because that is what was listed on my dad’s death certificate. It’s also the only song in the history of the band that Spencer and Aaron sat someone down and asked them (me) to help write some of the lyrics, which was truly an honor.

At roughly seven minuets in length, it is also emblematic of the band's growth through their career.

Follow the record's release next year, a North American headlining tour is scheduled with support from Every Time I Die and Spiritbox.

Define the Great Line
Tooth & Nail (2006)

It's pretty commendable that a band like Underoath, who easily could be on a major label right now after their extremely successful breakout album They're Only Chasing Safety, chose to stay with their original label Tooth and Nail. Even more impressive however is that their latest outing, Define the Great Line, is significantly more mature in their songwriting style and … Read more

Within the world of science there exist certain absolutes that are ever-present and unchanging. While most of these laws are complex to the nth degree, even even the most common simpleton can understand a few of them. For example, the majority of the population knows that no matter how hard you try, oil and water will never mix. Similarly, with … Read more
