Heiress is back with a new album with the unfortunately timely title of Distant Fires ,scheduled for release on Oct. 1 via Satanik Royalty Records.
The Seattle, WA band features current/former members of other heavy-hitting, heavy band such as Himsa and Undertow.
The record comes after a trying year for its members.
Speaking of the emotional struggle that influences the record, vocalist John Pettibone says:
Two very important people in my life passed away in the last couple of years. I’m still having a tough time dealing with that loss and I carried that weight into these songs. The entire album is based on my struggle of fears and failures around me as I’m losing time so quickly. I’ve never felt more, ‘out of step with the world’ then I do now. Even within my own social paths and circles, I feel like I’m an outsider among us.
Heiress formed in 2006 as a post-hardcore/sludge project by Wes Reed, growing to include more members over time.
