Our featured stream this month is the return of The Soviet Machines from Minneapolis, MN. Their new self-titled album isn’t out until next year (Jan. 1 digitally and Feb. 12 for the LP) but we’re sharing it at SPB now.
It’s the group’s third release and first new material in over a decade, produced by Jack Endino. On the new record the band delivers hard-pounding rhythms, singalong-on-first-listen melodies, and just enough swagger to give extra edge without going overboard.
Soviet Machines originally formed in 2006 between high school friends Jack Swagger (vocals/guitar) and Marcus Jones (drums), before disbanding in 2009. Fast-forward a few presidential cycles to 2020 and the band is back -- this time with Rich Salsbury on bass.
Order the vinyl via DC-Jam Records.
