It’s a little past Halloween, but with the year that humanity has been going through, maybe that’s irrelevant. The debut release from Milwaukee four-piece Fox Face was entitled Teen Wiccan. I could relate some stories on that motif, but the more important thing is this band rocks out with churning sounds, biting social commentary, and, for me anyways, just the right level of diabolical cackle. They’re following up 2017 full-length Spoil + Destroy, which included a cover of Britney Spears’ “Toxic” that, uh, sounds nothing like the original to say the least, with End of Man, set for release in early 2021 on Dirtnap Records.

Premiering here, we’ve got the video for album track “Not Your Home.” The band has this to say about it: “Crushed dreams and loneliness seep through the night like a ghost, rattling pipes and creaking floorboards.  Fox Face's 'Not Your Home' is the haunted house of your mind, struggling to keep it together when you've lost it all and are utterly, and eternally, alone.”

Filmed in black and white, I’m definitely digging the video’s OG Blair Witch Project vibe and, thankfully, there’s no snot in sight. Also, this chugging rock music is hard to ignore. Check out the video below and head over here to preorder the album.

End Of Man
Dirtnap (2021)

It seems fitting that one of the first 2021 releases I’m reviewing is called End Of Man. A look at the news shows a world in crisis and, for deeper meaning, the common parlance is shifting away from gender specific language. So maybe Fox Face is saying men ruined the planet and we’re all gonna die. Maybe they are saying … Read more
