Since 2012, Cliff and Ivy, self-described as Alaska’s Goth Duo, have put together a nice array of releases, including several interesting conceptual projects. This body of work is highlighted on the group’s latest full-length, a best-of album boasting a pretty eclectic selection of 18 tracks. It’s probably no coincidence that the compilation kicks off with “Ohm,” a tight track that effectively captures the mood and sort of dark energy that pulses through much of the group’s music.
Featured here is the newly-released and nicely realized video for the track. Partially filmed at the HAARP Research Facility in Gakona, Alaska, which seems an appropriate backdrop to me given the nature of the facility and various theories about it, the video combines stark imagery with a witchy sort of vibe. It’s also quite psychedelic at times.
