Mark Lanegan is back with a new song now -- "Skeleton Key" -- from his upcoming Straight Songs of Sorrow, set to release on May 8 (Heavenly Recordings). He will also release a memoir titled Sing Backwards And Weep, out on April 28 (Da Capo). The two releases are linked, with Lanegan's memoirs inspiring the content of the new 15-song record.

It explores Lanegan's youth in eastern Washington, drug abuse in the 1990s, and a new outlook in the 21st century.

The new record also features guest appearances from Greg Dulli, Warren Ellis, John Paul Jones, Ed Harcourt, and more. Lanegan released Somebody's Knocking last year.
