New Drakulas will release on April 3
Drakulas - Terminal Amusements

Drakulas have set the date for the release of their upcoming studio album, discussed in a recent SPB interview, for April 3. The record is to be titled Terminal Amusements and will be the group's first on Dine Alone Records.

The record is set in a fictionalized, late-‘70s city laden with drugs, pornography, video games, nightclubs, art movements and "a little bit of a occult esoterica to spare." The band features members of Riverboat Gamblers, Rise Against, and more.

The band also has a headlining tour scheduled for next month, with additional dates coming throughout the year. Check out the dates, and a video for "Pretty Tommy" after the jump.

You see, Drakulas is a concept band, set in a dystopian, Warriors-esque world of broken streetlights, shenanigans, violence and smut. And, well, let’s just say that 1970s New York inspired a lot of that … Read more

Terminal Amusements
Dine Alone (2020)

Pre-album press releases for the latest Drakulas album pushed the “art-punk” label. Based on Drakulas’ earlier work, I got it – but I also thought it was a little bit off. They’ve always had elements of some deeper conceptual stuff going on, but it always felt too straight-forward and rollicking to me. Right or wrong, I associate art-punk as being … Read more

At this point Riverboat Gamblers have enough side projects that there’s almost an expectation of sound before listening, that unifying factor between all the different bands that have spidered from the source band. Introduce Drakulas, who released an EP on Red Scare Industries last year and now come with a full-length Raw Wave debut on Dirtnap Records. Not only does … Read more

Gangs, porno, and video game addiction. That’s the hook right there, but we’ll keep going. With Drakulas, a band featuring familiar faces from Riverboat Gamblers and Rise Against, about to release a new album next year, SPB reached out to frontman Mike Wiebe to learn a bit more about the … Read more
