Although …And You Will Know Us by the Trail of Dead has been relatively inactive in recent yers, the Austin, TX-formed group will celebrate its 25th year in 2020 with a North American headline tour and a new album -- the band's tenth overall. The group releases X: The Godless Void and Other Stories next January on Dine Alone Records.
After spending five years in Cambodia, Conrad Keely returned to Austin in 2018, and began work on the newalbum, the group's first since IX (2014). The tone of X is described as drawing inspiration from Keely's move, plus taking inspiration from Steven Pressfield’s book The War Of Art. “I feel like I’m writing pop music,” he says, “it’s just not Top 20 pop. It’s the pop music I wish was on the radio, the pop music I would’ve grown up with."
