Death Cab for Cutie recently spoke to Billboard about their follow-up to 2005's Plans. The band have been busy in the studio, where they decided to record the album live to analog tape. Guitarist Chris Walla had this to say about the album:
It's really, really good, I think, but it's totally a curve ball, and I think it's gonna be a really polarizing record. But I'm really excited about it. It's really got some teeth. The landscape of the thing is way, way more lunar than the urban meadow sort of thing that has been happening for the last couple of records.
The album is tentatively slated for a May release, though nothing has been confirmed, nor has an album title been chosen as of yet.
