The Rise Album News

Posted by Michael on April 30, 2004

The Rise have finished recording their sophomore effort for Ferret entitled Reclamation Process and expect to have their album out this winter. In related news, band frontman Cory recently commented on the San Antonio Hardcore Messageboard that they will be giving away free copies of Reclamation Process as well as releasing a side-project/remix release featuring guest performances from members of Recover and ...Trail of Dead as well as remixes of Elliott, Thowdown, Snapcase. For more information read on: we are in talks with a few different people on how to do this. so far the best option is seeming to be to team up with law of inertia magazine. althought the record is free we still need a vehicle to move it. so law of inertia is going to include it with the winter issue. all art and everything except the actial jewel case will be included and the entire issue will be guest edited by us to talk about why we are doing this and other issues addressed on the record. this way the record is still in stores and distributed widely in sort of a subversive way. the cd does not become its own commodity. the magazine cover price is 6 dollars. this is the best possible way to do this i think. 60,000 copies will go out piggybacked on a great independant music magazine. we will probably play shows this winter. guitar players are still living in DC and england right now. that cd (remix cd) is still in the works but the rise cd was a priority. two of us, me and jimmy, are doing a full electronica group called ocelot mthrfckrs. we have played a few shows and are still sorting out how we want to present it live. at any rate once everything for the rise release is done it will be back in the works. half original with guest vocals from recover, trail of the dead and more and remixes of, elliott, throwdown, snapcase, and more.
